Christina Swartz has been an independent consultant and coach for over ten years, primarily helping leaders and leadership teams increase their personal and organizational effectiveness.
She has coached in a wide variety of organizations in the Federal and local government sectors, the non-profit sector and for-profit companies. In addition to coaching leaders in medium and large organizations either individually or in cohort leadership programs, she has significant experience coaching small business owners and independent professionals. With those clients, her leadership coaching work also includes a great deal of work on issues related to ownership/leadership of micro-enterprises. Her personal experience as a business owner having to negotiate leases and other contracts, hire employees, design advertising, recruit customers, and make a profit has prepared her well to work with other coaches on their coaching businesses. She knows very well from her own lived experience the importance that leaders and those who coach them stay in shape to lead/coach and the role of self-care in achieving and maintaining that level of conditioning .
Prior to becoming an independent consultant and coach, Christina had careers in education where she was a teacher and school director and the airline industry where she supervised 200 employees as the Department Head of Customer Service at Dulles Airport. Great Coaches is the third business that she has either founded or co-founded since 1996.
Christina is a graduate of the Georgetown University’s ICF accredited Leadership Coaching Certificate Program. Her formal education includes a bachelors degree from the University of Mary Washington and graduate study at Old Dominion and Shenandoah Universities.
Christina resides in Winchester, Virginia with her husband, Chip, and two sons.
